TOTALLY AGREE! Did anyone ever find out how the driver was?
Kit Steptoe June 12, 2013 at 10:38 pm
I live in the area where the accident occured and I drive on Douglas just about every day. I haveRead More to agree that people must slow down when approaching that curve by the golf course and allow themselves enough time to merge into one lane. Those not familiar with that part of Douglas, really need to adhere to the warning signs that are posted, as they head in the direction of the base.

He should have been locked up with buddy "Duke Cunningham", they both took money from theRead More same contractor, who's also in Jail...!!!

Thanks Arthur, For charting a path, for some Republicans who lost their own way. As our currentRead More President attempts to spin things his way, cogent thinking Republicans will pick their way through the morass - created from bad management and being lied to by their Government in-power. The Wiki-like views expressed in some comments here, is simply not reality - but does come-across as grasping at straws to stuff their own straw man argumentums being propped-up by the left. This path is yellow-brick wishfulness to pull-off, and tricky as truth catches up to knock 'em down over time. At this time, the Monkeys of Mayhem are flying with both wings a flappin' - causing sweat to well up for the man behind the curtain and trying to look in control. Why does, that US Constitution continually get in Mr. Obama's way?... Process, which Mr. Issa is following - to inconvenience of the lever puller. Checks and balances, is a hinderance to President Obama's ideology, and he seems to find disgust in the Limitations of Government prescribed in the Bill of Rights?

Go get 'em Darrell! Melt the wax man down!

Waxman couldn't "fight" his way out of a wet paper bag, let alone on his political votingRead More record. He has been a wacko liberal California Conressman for far too long! Now he's joining forces with his Senate contemporary, Barbara Blockhead, err, Boxer, to pass carbon tax legislation....yet another job-killing measure for the entire country! These are just a couple of far too many looney-tunes representing our state in Washington. Maxine Waters is another. Love your blogs, Arthur!

Indeed, Issa is going after bigger fish, of Leviathan proportions! Benghazi-gate, Solyndra-gateRead More Fast and Furious-gate, IRS-gate, EPA-gate The Obama Administration has been a "gated community" of corruption and scandal. Only now the "floodgates" of media scrunity had to be unleashed, or else they would lose what little credibility they have left.
Frank H. Robles May 14, 2013 at 02:00 am
Oh Yeah...!!! KG ...LOL with you...!!! Good sense of Humor on a lot of your post's...!!!

At this point, who cares where Mr. Stevens "shoved his show." He died serving hisRead More country, yet the Chief Executive and his state department did not serve him. It's time to shove the "Obama side-show" out of Washington for good.

My heart breaks when I read these stories. However, we all need to be reminded every day the painRead More and suffering of the millions and millions of innocent and defenseless animals who suffer at the hands of humanity. I will never understand for as long as I live how mankind can be so callous and brutal in the way they are able to treat the defenseless and why. Thanks for your letter and reminder to us all.

Nice Post enjoyed reading about your views on racial identities here in California and Hawaii. IRead More have a married son living in Hawaii and 2 Kids, He's Mex/White is mom is White. He's saids the question of race does not come up, in fact it's impolite to ask...!!! I feel good about my 2 grandkids growing up in Hawaii, and yeah is wife is White, and loves Hawaii. Thanks for that little bit insight, Hope you are enjoying Cali...!!!
Christine Foronda April 29, 2013 at 12:51 am
Thank you very much for your comment. It's great that your grandchildren are growing up in HawaiiRead More since it's also a very diverse state and it's good for them to be exposed to a variety of races and cultures. I am enjoying California and I don't mind so much anymore if the question of race comes up since I've relearned to be proud of where I come from and I have no problem telling people, whether they socially construct me based on race or not, that I'm Filipino.

"The best part was the fact that he brought in Jerry Farrell and the Christian Right to takeRead More over the GOP....this the guy that called 911 a Act of God ....!!!" That was also wrong. Very wrong. God is no longer angry with the world anymore. He took out all of his wrath on His Son, and has since reconciled the world to Himself (2 Corinthians 5: 15-21) There has been a change. Pastors should know this, but too many of them act and preach as if the Old Covenant is still in effect.

Liked the Man, not the Pres. I'm glad and Proud that we have 2 Presidential Libraries here inRead More So.Cal. This is his best quote " It is has been said that politics is the second oldest profession, I have learn'd that it bears a striking resemblance to the First".....RIP Mr. Reagan...!!!
Arthur Christopher Schaper May 9, 2013 at 01:09 am
Mr. Robles, You were gracious from beginning to the end. May our political discourse reflectRead More similar style and substance. Thanks!
Frank H. Robles May 6, 2013 at 01:39 am
Yeah don't miss Reagan, had a few good points, was against assault weapons, made Russia go broke,Read More and raised tax's when he needed to. But did not like him bringing the Christian Right into politics and making the GOP so anti-union . When he was Gov. of Ca. he legalized abortion, let the teachers union become untied statewide to increase their benefits and pension. Hard to believe he was a Union Pres. at one time...!!! Anyway liked him has a Gov. not has a Pres...!!!
Jac Flanders May 6, 2013 at 03:46 pm
Exactly. Thanks for your fair and balanced political points, Frank. My particular bias has much moreRead More to do with Reagan as a person than a president.
BlueAngel2 April 29, 2013 at 01:34 am
On this issue, I am glad that this Act was passed. It would have affected anyone who travels byRead More plane and we sure don't need a shortage of air controllers. We need these people to control the air space to keep us all safe.
Status Quo April 30, 2013 at 04:07 am
Jac is correct, to be embarrassed by this action. While your Congress was at work, it also guttedRead More the pro-active Stock Act. Rendering it worthless, toward the very entity the Stock was designed to rein-in... it passed by an unusually large manner, at further abuse to Americans.

Why not? I do, and I demand excellence from elected leaders... seen any?
Libi Uremovic May 29, 2013 at 09:10 am
i have no expectations of excellence from elected and appointed officials......i just want them toRead More do the job they're paid to do instead of having their own agenda....today i'm requesting the burlingame school district to open their books.... we will all find out exactly how much money cali schools receive ...and where it's really going....

"I just want them to do the job they're paid to do instead of having their own agenda."Read More Yes.
Arthur Christopher Schaper April 28, 2013 at 06:38 pm
Thank you so much, Jay! I need you to contact your Congressman, your state legislators, anyone whoRead More is related to or working in the medical field. We have go to stop this awful law from taking full effect!
Jay Berman April 28, 2013 at 08:28 pm
I have .. we all need to ... it will destroy our healthcare system and the government will beRead More right there with the universal government healthcare that they wanted in the first place ... I have a service related condition and have to use the Veterans Administration ... I injured my back .. have to wait 6 weeks just for physical therapy and another month for an orthopedic consult .. been in intense pain ... I wish government healthcare on nobody ...

Carl Petersen III 5 hours ago Robert Livesay 2 minutes ago 'ou folks that voted for Liberals needRead More some lessons in economics.' . . Is lesson one how the Conservative economic policy of the Bush administration crashed the economy?
Carl Petersen III April 21, 2013 at 11:34 pm
Robert Livesay 8 minutes ago "Herr Carl Petrersen III I have some concerns about yourRead More postings." . . Sounds like someone is a little bit upset over getting proven wrong about his allegations about the cause of our economic crash.

Puleeease....you must be kidding. This stuff has been going on since the beginning. It is part ofRead More the game. Thankfully the Naional League still has the perfect solution for this problem, the pitcher has to take his turn at bat. The American League has resorted to punishing surrogates which also keeps the lid on it. Ray Chapman was the last player killed by a pitch.... IN 1920!!!! Now it's time to get serious? And lastly "Violence on the playing field is not acceptable in any sport"..... welcome to the vagification of America. These folks won't be happy until every last boy in the Country is wearing pink silk panties.
DiAne Fischer April 17, 2013 at 07:59 pm
Wrong Kevin. I love the blue jock straps on real boys...they don't need pink silk panties! ButRead More purposeful, intentional violence is not acceptable...and that's what Greinke did.
Kevin George April 17, 2013 at 08:14 pm
Great, wave your magic wand and make it go away. But leave the game alone. Please start with boxingRead More and work your way down..

What about motorcycles?
Cody Kitaura April 12, 2013 at 08:12 pm
Ironically enough, I had to spend a lot of time defending my Miata (a "spiffy littleRead More roadster" and a convertible) from people who called it a "girl car." (Then I crashed it into a ditch while driving like the teenaged boy I was)
Jac Flanders April 14, 2013 at 02:16 pm
I rode my Triumph - rigged for the dirt - in the desert, up winding roads I would never haveRead More searched out in a car, had a few ladies ride on the back, and got smacked hard by a young actress on her way to an interview for the musical, "Hair" (she blew a red light and interrupted my ride down Sunset Boulevard and almost wrecked my motorcycle riding career). But my motorcycle had nothing at all to do with my sex drives. Well, almost nothing.

Yeah that privatizing of the Coal and Steel has worked really well for them. They just down theirRead More last working coal mine, they import coal now. British Steel is now owned by a India steel company " Tata Steel " North Sea oil is taxed at 80 %, making for lower investment in new production, they are now a oil importing country...!!!
Arthur Christopher Schaper April 12, 2013 at 02:59 pm
That's not Thatcher's fault. Blame Blair, Brown, and Cameron, if he chooses not toRead More "right" Labour's wrongs.
Tom Mciver April 12, 2013 at 05:01 pm
She was a nasty piece of work, guilty of at least one major war crime as well as, to quote one ofRead More her predecessors, Sir Harold Macmillan, "selling the family silver". She destroyed manufacturing, created mass unemployment and used the revenue from North Sea oil to fund her experiments in social destruction. So many good, long standing viable firms employing thousands were sacrificed at the altar of her economic madness. Nasty woman.
