There are numerous routes students can take in the newly devised program.

n  The first two options are to take six courses in either the Professional Certificate in Marketing, or the Professional Certificate in Digital Media, to earn a certificate in that particular program.

n  Students can even elect to take three additional courses from either certificate and receive a specialty certificate, further enhancing their résumé.

This certificate program is targeted to working professionals within the fields of journalism, public relations, advertising, marketing, and multimedia content production, as well as anyone who wants to enter these exciting careers.

Denise Flores, a student in the program, emphasized that the classes are diverse.

“There were students in the 50-plus range, who are catching up on the new things trending,” she said. “There were journalists who are trying to go digital. There were people who are trying to be more competitive by learning new skills. And then there were young people trying to gain a competitive advantage in their field or switch over to a new field.”
