Former “ER” Television Star Scheduled for SDSU Writers’ Conference
Eriq La Salle, best known to television audiences for his award-winning portrayal of Dr. Peter Benton on “ER,” will speak and join the author panels during the 30th anniversary of the SDSU Writers’ Conference on Jan. 24-26 at the DoubleTree by Hilton in Mission Valley.
La Salle published his debut novel, Laws of Depravity, to the coveted Kirkus Star, Reader’s Choice named Best Thriller of 2013, and five-star reviews. Now, La Salle is set to release his second book in the series, the thriller Laws of Wrath.

His credits range from Broadway to film roles opposite Eddie Murphy in Coming to America and Robin Williams in One Hour Photo. La Salle has maintained a prolific acting career while working steadily as a director, taking the helm for HBO, Showtime and NBC, in addition to episodes such as Law & Order, CSI: New York, A Gifted Man, and The Night Shift, among others.

Among the panelists joining La Salle at the SDSU Writers’ Conference will be New York Times best-selling authors Joseph Wambaugh, Jr. and Victor Villaseñor. Keynote speaker Sylvia Day will deliver her message on Saturday, Jan. 25. Day has sat atop best-seller lists for The New York Times, USA Today, Barnes & Noble and Publisher’s Weekly, as well as signing a television movie deal.
