Grant Writing Certificate Courses at SDSU

Grant writing is a key component of securing funding for many of San Diego's most dynamic organizations. With hundreds of charitable nonprofit organizations ranging from large educational institutions and hospitals to small startups competing for funding in an increasingly challenging environment, knowing how to write a grant is more important than ever.

To meet the demand for people in search of these new funding opportunities, SDSU’s College of Extended Studies is offering its Professional Certificate in Grant Writing program exclusively online. The Grant Proposal Development course is next and will take place Oct. 28-Dec. 8 with instructor Jay Katz, who has been writing grant proposals since 1990 and started his own business as full-time grant writer in 1995.

To complete the certificate program, students must finish two courses: Introduction to Grants and Funding Research along with Grant Proposal Development. Both courses will be offered again during the upcoming spring semester.
