Get Out North County and Bring on the Weekend Fun

Drum roll please, the weekend is finally here! Are you goin to stay inside and sit on the couch, how about beat the rainy blues and get out!

The holiday spirit has hit North County and festivities are coming full steam ahead.

Catch the musical production of Annie in Oceanside or watch the sprinkling lights in Encinitas.

Patch found activities for all kids (young or old) to enjoy. Here are five must-see and things to do in North County this weekend.

'ANNIE' THE MUSICAL

• What's Up: Famously known for her red curly locks, America's beloved little girl Annie will hit the stage in a heart-warming yet entertaining musical.
• Where: Star Theatre, 402 N Coast Hwy, Oceanside.
• When: Friday, Dec. 14 until Sunday, Dec. 16. Show times vary per day.
  
• Price: $15 General Admission, $12 Senior/Military/Student, $7 Child (12 and under.)

PADDINGTON BEAR PLAYS THE STAGE

• What's Up:  Prodigy Players Children's theatre troupe will present Paddington Bear Plays the Stage. Paddington, will have you laughing your socks off.
• Where: Encinitas Library, 540 Cornish Dr, Encinitas.
• When: Saturday, Dec. 15 at 5-5:30 p.m.
  
• Price: Free.

FESTIVE GIFT-WRAPPING BENEFIT

• What's Up: Bring your gifts to be wrapped and help support Casa de Amparo. Enjoy holiday treats while your gifts are being wrapped.
• Where: Sheraton Carlsbad Resort & Spa, 5480 Grand Pacific Dr, Carlsbad.
• When: Saturday, Dec. 15 and Sunday, Dec. 16 from Noon to 5 p.m.
• Price: $3-$7, depending on the size.

GARDEN OF LIGHTS

• What's Up: When the sun goes down, 100,000 lights are turned on in the garden. Enjoy live holiday music from 6 to 8 p.m. Garden of Lights will be open, if weather permits. Check the website for weather related closures.
• Where: San Diego Botanic Garden 230 Quail Gardens Dr, Encinitas.
• When: Friday, Dec. 14 to Sunday, Dec. 23 from 5 to 9 p.m.
• Price: $6 Members, Prices for non-members $12 Adults $8 Senior/Military/Student $4 Child (3-12.) 

CHRISTMAS AROUND THE WORLD

• What's Up: See how other countries celebrate the holiday season. There will be two events, a Holiday Fair and Capella Concert all under one roof.
• Where: Carlsbad Dove Library 1775 Dove Ln, Carlsbad.
• When: Sunday Dec. 16 from 1 to 5 p.m.
• Price: Free entry for the Holiday Fair, $15 donation for the concert.
