Oceanside’s library is teaming with local businesses to encourage more members of the community to get a library card and use its resources.

Through Sept. 30 the library and local businesses are offering a “Reading Rewards You” program as part of National Library Card Sign-Up Month.

During the month of September, anyone who shows their Oceanside Public Library Card at a participating business can receive special discounts, library officials said.

“A Library card provides you with great benefits, such as the ability to check-out books, eBooks, and audio books for free,” library officials said through a written news release.

The library also offers low-cost DVD check-outs, language learning databases, free high-speed Internet access and more, they wrote.
