Go where the music takes you and join “The Party of the Festival” at 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 28.

Step outside to the streets of San Diego's Gaslamp and back to the heralded 70′s for the “must-attend” bash of the San Diego Film Festival as film, music and festival goers come together to party under the stars with a giant screen showing of the Academy Award winning film Almost Famous. In attendance—Pennie Lane—the real life inspiration for the character portrayed by Kate Hudson in the film. After the screening we’ll keep the party rocking with live music presented by House of Blues… Rock on! (View film trailer here)

Patch readers have a chance to win two tickets to the "Almost Famous Block Party." All you need to do is leave a comment telling us why you want to attend the party. A winner will be selected at random. All comments must be in by 8 a.m. on Friday, Sept. 28. 

The "Almost Famous Block Party" ticket includes:

  • Hosted cocktails 6-8 p.m., no host bar 8 p.m.
  • No host bar 8-11 p.m.
  • Light fare 6-11 p.m. provided by Sammy’s Woodfired Pizza and Crossroads/House of Blues
  • Outdoor Screening of ALMOST FAMOUS
  • DJ  9-9:30 p.m.
  • Live Music 9:30-11 p.m. by Queen Nation presented by House of Blues

Must be a legal resident of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia who age 18 and older. Winner will be selected in a random drawing.
