Compelling "Planeat" Film coming to Fallbrook

Nothing changes the planet as much as the way we eat. That's what the makers of the documentary "Planeat" believe and have been impressing upon audiences worldwide since its initial release. This unique film, which will be shown in Fallbrook for one night only on Saturday, August 13th, features startling revelations into the field of human health with research exploring the link between diet and illness. Researchers investigate the useof diet to treat heart disease and reveal how our food choices contribute to climate change, land use and oceanic dead zones.

"Planeat" which made its US debut in March after much acclaim overseas, is the story of three men's life-long search for a diet which is good for our health, good for the environment and good for the future of the planet. First-time filmmakers Shelley Lee Davies and Or Shlomi made the independent filmm with no outside funding. Despite a minimal budget for marketing, the thought-provoling film has received much notoriety, including from Beatles star Paul McCartney.

"Those of us here at Meat Free Monday fully support the efforts of "Planeat", which we hope will alert people to the dangers of some of our current practices."

"Planeat" promotes a plant-based diet with the reduction (or elimination) of the consumption of dairy products and meats. Former President Bill Clinton recently credited making the dietary transition to his vastly improved health.

"I went on essentially a plant-based diet," Clinton said in a recent interview. "It changed my whole metabolism and I lost 24 pounds."
