Traditionally embraced by rebels, sailors and gangsters, old-school skin art is a creative form of self-expression that is fully absorbed into mainstream culture. Popularized in the early to mid-twentieth century, this style has seen a resurgence of appreciation for its artistic style and its classic, timeless appeal. OMA celebrates the art of tattooing and how this art form has informed popular culture in Masterworks of Body Art: V3 on Saturday, September 24 from 5:00 to 9:00 p.m. Chris Winn, of Winn Tattoos returns to OMA to curate this live body art exhibition focusing on artists who specialize in traditional Americana-style tattooing. This growing event is a creatively charged evening packed with a tattoo runway show at 6:00 p.m., musical entertainment by Hello Trouble, complimentary appetizers, beer and wine. After the runway show, models mingle and interact with the crowd, giving guests the opportunity to view the artwork at close range. Required reservations are $25 or $20 for OMA members and can be made by calling (760) 435-3721.
