Come see some African-American Quilts from the Collection of Maude Southwell Wahlman at OMA.
The exhibit features quilts from Dr. Whlman and indigenous African-American art. The quilts boast stripes, bold colors, large designs, asymmetry, multiple patterns and more. They are very unique, as they are a combination of African textile ideas and symbols with American traditions.
Read more about the exhibit here and visit it at OMA Tuesday-Saturday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. or Sunday from 1-4 p.m. The exhibit runs from Jan. 14-March 18.
Tuesdays are free admission for all during 2012 at OMA.
