Jazz and artistry once again collide at the historic Brooks Theatre in Oceanside for a special, one night only event featuring the premiere jazz ensemble, Blue Chunks, on October 12.

Musical virtuosos Kamau Kenyatta on piano, Troy Jennings on saxophone, Curtis Taylor on trumpet, Scott Gressitt on bass and Richard Sellers on drums, will fill the theatre with decidedly funky renditions of engaging jazz standards, while the lobby plays host to an intimate gallery of original artwork.  Special guests include Boaz and Avalon Roberts on guitar and vocals.

Lobby doors will open for “happy hour” and gallery viewing starting at 6:30 p.m.  Show starts at 7:30 p.m.

Proceeds from the event will support two great causes: Oceanside Theatre Company, a California public benefit corporation dedicated to promoting artistic endeavors throughout North San Diego County, and the Ronald McDonald House Charities of San Diego, which provides a “home away from home” for families with children being treated for serious and life-threatening conditions at local hospitals.
