BRIDGE IN OCEANSIDE NAMED AFTER DR. MARTIN LUTHER KING JR.

SACRAMENTO – Assemblymember Rocky Chávez (R-Oceanside) announced today that, thanks to Assembly Concurrent Resolution 41, the Mission Avenue Bridge in Oceanside has been named after Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

“I am proud the hard work and vision of the Oceanside City Council has paid off,” said Jerry Kern, Deputy Mayor of Oceanside. “When people cross this bridge they will now be reminded of an American hero who preached equality, understanding, and peace.”

Chávez authored ACR 41 at the request of Deputy Mayor Kern.
