Watch: Video Shows Argument on Oceanside Pier Minutes Before Fatal Stabbing

Minutes after the video was taken, a mortally wounded teen was found nearby. It's unclear if the incidents are related.

Video taken Thursday evening appears to show two groups of young men arguing on the north entrance of the Oceanside Pier minutes before police found a mortally wounded teen nearby.

It's unclear if the two incidents were related, but witnesses told investigators an argument between groups took place before the stabbing death. 

The video was shot at 8:31 p.m. Thursday. Four minutes later, the stabbed teen was found in the 200 Block of Mission Avenue, according to City News Service.

It's unclear in the video what the groups were arguing about, but one male tells the other faction, "You guys came up to me!"

Those with him appear to try to calm him down by saying "Ya, buey" in Spanish, which roughly translates to "Stop it, man" in the situation's context.

Toward the end of the 57-second video, the groups appear to go their separate ways as one male tells the other faction, "Hey, you guys have a good day."

One person off-camera apparently says "You too.

Witnesses told investigators the slaying occurred during a brawl that followed a verbal argument in which two groups of youths traded rival gang challenges. The report didn't specify where that altercation tool place.
