Pompadours Make a Comeback for Oceanside Civilians and Marines

Oceanside residents are embracing classic-era gentlemen's cuts, according to one local barber.

Classic-era gentlemen’s haircuts such as the pompadours are making a comeback in Oceanside and even Marines on Camp Pendleton are getting in on the action.

“They get to have a little style with their cuts instead of shaving their head bald,” Gino Nanci of All American Deluxe Barbershop said. “They get to comb it over to the side and pomp it up in the front and have a little style for the day—and look like the classic gentleman.”

Marines make sure the cut—especially the sides—are within regulation, he added.

He gets his "pomp" done at the All American Barber Shop, which is also owned by the Nanci family.
