Junior Seau paid $3.2 million for his Oceanside home in 2005. Late last month, the beachfront house was sold for nearly  $2 million, according to the North County Times.

“The two-story house at 604 S. The Strand was put on the market in July with an asking price of $2,295,000, according to real estate listings,” the paper said Friday.

“It sold Aug. 31 for $1,975,000, according to Paula Skinner of ERA Ranch & Sea Realty, which listed the property.”

In a phone interview Friday, Skinner told Patch that the seller was a trustee for the Seau estate.

Skinner told the paper the 2,200-square-foot, two-story house was on the market for 39 days.

“That is a quick sale for a property in that price range,” Skinner was quoted as saying, but not disclosing the buyer.

A Zillow posting described the house but not the fact it was the scene of Seau’s suicide on May 2, when the former Chargers great shot himself in the chest at age 43.
