Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside announced recently that it has begun using Mazor Robotics' Renaissance.

Tri-City Medical Center in Oceanside announced recently that it has begun using Mazor Robotics’ Renaissance.

“For patients, this means better clinical outcomes with less pain, fewer complications, and shorter recovery time,” spokesmen for the hospital said through a news release. “Renaissance is in daily use in leading hospitals with thousands of successful cases worldwide.”

According to its creators, the system takes 3D images of the spinal cord that are sent to a monitor. The surgeon then inserts a guidance unit that helps control a surgical needle toward the area that needs treatment.
