Camp Pendleton Marine Killed in Afghanistan
A Marine with the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment was killed in Helmand Province on Thursday.
The Pentagon released the name Friday of a 21-year-old Camp Pendleton Marine who died during combat operations in Afghanistan on Thursday.
Lance Cpl. Nicholas S. O'Brien of Stanley, NC, was killed in Helmand Province on Thursday, according to the Department of Defense.
O'Brien was a part of the 1st Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, I Marine Expeditionary Force.
