Drawing Down: What Do You Think?

Here's the first in a series of Camp Pendleton Patch polls on topics of interest to the military community. Tell us your opinion.

President Barack Obama has called for the withdrawal of about 45,000 troops from Iraq by the end of the year.

But some U.S. officials want a number of the troops to remain and train Iraqi security forces, provided the Iraqi government requests it. To date, they have not.

Iraq itself is divided on the issue. While some Iraqis want all foreign troops out of the country, others fear if the coalition troops leave, warring factions will mire the country in continuing violence.
