Gov. Brown Honors Fallen Camp Pendleton Marine

The state Capitol flags were flown at half-staff Thursday in honor of a Marine killed in Afghanistan.

Gov. Jerry Brown honored Camp Pendleton Marine Lance Cpl. Sean M.N. O'Connor, 22, of Douglas, WY, Friday by flying the state Capitol flags at half-staff, City News Service reported.

O'Connor, assigned to 1st Marine Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division, 1st Marine Expeditionary Force, was killed in Afghanistan on June 12 while conducting combat operations in Helmand province, according to a Department of Defense press release.
