World Famous Mud Run Coming to Camp Pendleton

Camp Pendleton Public Affairs:
Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton is scheduled to host the opening event of the annual World Famous Mud Run series Saturday, June 1, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This will be the first of five events held during the Mud Run race series.

The Mud Run is open to both military and civilian participants and is a challenging 10K run with hills, tire obstacles, river crossings, two 5-foot walls with mud on both sides, a tunnel crawl, a cargo net climb, a slippery hill climb and a final 30-foot long mud pit. For the first time, the series has added a 1K Kid's Mud Run for children 4 to 12.

More than 26,000 adults and 1,000 children are expected to participate in the event held during the first three weekends of June. Proceeds from the race series go to support Marine Corps Community Services quality of life programs for Camp Pendleton personnel and families.
