CYT Riverside County Presents A Look at the Magical Kingdom Below the Sea

CYT Riverside County will answer all of these questions and many more when it presents Disney’s The Little Mermaid Jr. in November at the Bob Burton Center for the Performing Arts on the campus of Fallbrook High School. The production commences with a pair of shows on Nov. 10 and runs on back-to-back weekends for a total of seven shows.

Adapted from Disney’s 2008 Broadway production, which was based on Disney’s film of the same name, The Little Mermaid is a classic story about a girl who falls in love and stops at nothing to make all her dreams come true. While all of the sea creatures simply love life under the sea, Ariel (Katie Kostecka) longs to discover what life is like in the magical world above. In order for her to realize that discovery, she must defy her father King Triton, played by Tyler Shadle, his trusty sidekick Sebastian, played by Sarah Day, and her Mersisters. With the help of her brave but tentative best friend Flounder (Savannah McGowan), Ariel sets out to convince Prince Eric (Bailey Norris) that she is in fact the girl with the angelic voice.

However, the evil sea witch Ursula (Alexis Anderson) has something else in mind. Aided by her henchmen Flotsam (Maggie Rubin) and Jetsam (Raquel Estevez), Ursula will stop at nothing to win the power over the ocean from her brother King Triton. Ariel makes a deal with Ursula, but will she break the spell in time to get her voice back and win the heart of Prince Eric?
