Opening Reception and Illustrated Lecture, December 8, 2:00 pm
In her playful assemblages, Flavia Gilmore creates surprising juxtapositions of utilitarian objects that evoke a poignant look at consumer culture. Primarily working with found material and domestic debris, the work in this exhibition will take a focused look at Gilmore’s long and distinguished career in San Diego over the last 20 years. Meet the artist during her illustrated lecture on Saturday, December 8 at 2:00 p.m. The lecture is complimentary for museum members and free with museum admission.
