Darrell Issa to Poor: "Hey, a little hunger never hurt anyone!"

Darrell Issa took time out from his search for the elusive smoking gun of the Obama administration to vote for a version of the Farm Bill (AKA Federal Agriculture Reform and Risk Management Act of 2013) that is the first step to dismantling the food stamp program.  That's a good thing because, as we all know, when you give food to people who can't afford it, it creates a dependency that just encourages laziness and obesity.  People who eat one free meal just want to eat again in a just a few hours.

But Issa's smoking gun projects include the IRS scandal, where the IRS was caught profiling groups with names like Tea Party Partisans Against Electing a Democrat Congress, The Anti-Democrat Lobbying Club and Republican Voters Who Would Like to See Obama Impeached.  Personally I think we ought to get rid of all tax exempt organizations, except possibly groups with the words "Medical Marijuana" in their name, which apparently the IRS was also profiling.

Darrell has tried to find a smoking gun in a few other places, like the failure of Solyndra and the gun running operation began under the Bush Administration called the Fast and Furious Wide Receiver.

No smoking gun anywhere in sight.

But what is great about Issa's flop as a wannabe Watergate investigator is that his political tone deafness has almost single handedly destroyed the California Republican Party.  In case you haven't noticed lately, Republicans have not won a state-wide election in quite some time and both houses of our state legislature are dominated by Democrats.  It all started when Darrell decided to become Governor of California.  Darrell took some of the money he received from the insurance settlement that time when Barack Obama torched one of his failing businesses and purchased enough signatures to set in motion the recall of Grey Davis.

But things didn't really pan out, Arnold Schwarzenegger became Governor and California Republicans have been careening down hill ever since.

And, oh yes, then there is Issa's holding the late Ambassador J. Christopher Stevens, Sean Smith, Glen Doherty and Tyron Woods hostage.  They were murdered in the brutal Fog of War tragedy in Benghazi, Libya.  The ransom demand is that Hillary Clinton not run for President and the Republicans get to take over the Senate.  Or something like that.

But in fact most of us just want these men to rest in honored peace, a reminder of the sacrifice our foreign service and intelligence officers and their families make for our country and not just for Republicans.
