Solar Financing Through Property Taxes NOW Available to Oceanside Residents!
EVENT: An informational solar seminar will be held at the Oceanside Public Library on Saturday, March 22nd, from 11 a.m. -12 p.m. This free luncheon will cover solar technology, the HERO financing program now available to Oceanside residents, and local case studies.
As of February 10th, residents living in select cities across San Diego are able to participate in a new government solar financing program. Home Energy Renovation Opportunity (HERO) Financing provides an opportunity to fund solar through property taxes: No money out of pocket, no credit score requirement.
The local government sponsored PACE program, also known as HERO Financing is repaid annually through a tax assessment and the interest is tax deductible. This allows homeowners to tie their solar investment to property taxes rather than taking a personal loan, and the investment stays with the property when a homeowner moves. Annual payments are much lower than your current electric bill, and you will secure a lower electricity rate for the lifetime of the system. The cities of Carlsbad, Oceanside, Vista, San Marcos, Solana Beach and Lemon Grove have opted into the PACE program.
