Growth of Base Fire Has Stopped

The fire began burning about 500 meters north of the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital at about 2 p.m., the base reports.

The growth of a four-acre fire that started on base Monday afternoon has stopped and now 60 percent contained, according to a base news release.

The fire is about 500 meters north of the Camp Pendleton Naval Hospital and began at 2 p.m.

The fire does not pose any threat to personnel and structures. Mutual aid aviation asset requests have been cancelled, the release added. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
