Camp Pendleton Sailor Killed in Vehicle Accident

Petty Officer 3rd Class Wilson Won Lee, 23, of Lakewood, was taking part of a training exercise when he died Sunday

Authorities are investigating a vehicle collision that killed a Camp Pendleton sailor Sunday, according to a public affairs officer with the 1st Marine Logistics group.

Petty Officer 3rd Class Wilson Won Lee, 23, of Lakewood, was taking part of a training exercise when he died. Lee, a hospital corpsman Combat Logistics Battalion 1, Combat Logistics Regiment 1, enlisted in the Navy in 2008.

“The Marines and sailors of 1st Marine Logistics Group mourn the loss of
Petty Officer 3rd Class Lee.  Our heartfelt condolences go out to his
family.”

Lee’s personal service awards include the Good Conduct Medal, Presidential
Unit Citation, NATO Medal, Afghanistan Campaign Medal (second award), and
Sea Service Deployment Ribbon (second award).
