At least three Camp Pendleton Marines have been killed by electricution in Afghanistan this year, the Marine Corps Times reports.
- Cpl. Anthony Servin, of the 2nd Battalion, 5th Marine Regiment died June 8.
- Cpl. Connor Lowry, of the 2nd Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, died March 1.
- Cpl. Jon-Luke Bateman, of the 2nd Battalion, 4th Marine Regiment, died Jan. 15.
Low-hanging wires were to blame in some of the deaths. Camp Pendleton-based Maj. Gen. Charles Gurganus, commander of international in Helmand Province, told reporters that the Marine Corps is looking to modify vehicles.
