City Employee Charged with Embezzling $30K from Resource Center

Maria Santiago Guendulain was arrested on Nov. 21, according to a report.

Oceanside Police arrested an Oceanside city employee accused of embezzling more than $30,000, according to a U-T San Diego report.

Maria Santiago Guendulain was arrested on Nov. 21. She is accused with instructing residents who purchase services at the Crown Heights Resource Center to leave money orders blank. She then filled the money orders with her name, according to a report.

Guendulain—who earned $17.73 an hour—left the city in August, according to Human Resources Director Patricia Nunez.
