Gov. Brown Sends Condolences to Family of Killed Marine

Staff Sgt. Joseph H. Frankhauser died in the Helmand Province on Sunday.

Gov. Jerry Brown and his wife offered condolences Thursday to the family and friends of a 30-year-old Camp Pendleton-based Marine killed in combat in Afghanistan.

Staff Sgt. Joseph H. Frankhauser of Mason, Texas, died in the Helmand Province on Sunday, according to the Department of Defense.

Frankhauser was a member of the 7th Engineer Support Battalion, 1st Marine Logistics Group, I Marine Expeditionary Force.

Brown ordered that flags be flown half-staff over the state Capitol Thursday.
