Tea Party Marine Denied Request to Halt Separation Hearing [Poll]

A military board will meet with Marine Sgt. Gary Stein Thursday and recommend whether or not he should be discharged from the military for his actions.

A judge has denied a request to halt or postpone a military separation hearings for Sgt. Gary Stein — a Temecula Marine who maintains a Facebook page critical of President Obama, San Diego News 10 reports.

Sgt. Gary Stein faces a separation board Thursday, which will decide if he should be discharged for actions that include stating on Facebook that he would not follow orders from the president.

"After 4 hours of court it comes out a draw... discouraged but not beat," said a message from him on the "Armed Forces Tea Party" Facebook page.

Stein had written on Facebook that he would refuse an order from the president and later clarified by saying he would refuse to carry out an illegal order, the North County Times has reported.

Update: Sgt. Stein approached his hearing hopeful Thursday morning.  he had for his supporters.
