Video Said To Show Marines Urinating on Corpses

NBC Nightly News reports that military investigators will be looking into a video posted on the Web that purports to show Marines defiling the dead in Afghanistan.

A video that surfaced on the Web appears to show four Marines urinating on corpses in Afghanistan, NBC Nightly News reported Wednesday.

The network showed only a single photo from the video, but anchor Brian Williams said the images are believed to be of a sniper group based at Camp Lejeune.

If the report is confirmed and the Marines identified, Williams said they could face criminal prosecution.

The report follows testimony Wednesday during the trial of Marine Staff Sgt. Frank Wuterich, who faces charges stemming from the slayings of 24 Iraqi citizens in 2005.

One of the witnesses, Sgt. Sanick Dela Cruz, who had five murder charges against him dropped in return for his testimony, acknowledged , Camp Pendleton Patch reported Wednesday.
