Valley View Casino Center will be one of the host sites for the first-ever indoor soccer World Cup in February 2015, it was announced Saturday.

The announcement was made before the San Diego Sockers opened their Professional Arena Soccer League campaign against the Dallas Sidekicks.

The 14-time indoor champions will act as one host for the tournament, which will be conducted under the direction of FIFRA, Federacion Internacional de Futbol Rapido, the international sanctioning body for indoor soccer – which is known as Futbol Rapido in other parts of the world. The February 2015 competition will be the first "fully sanctioned" tournament of its type, said PASL Commissioner Kevin Milliken during a press conference.
