Blog: Are You Looking for a Way to Support our Troops this Year?

Donate socks, hot cocoa, gum, candy, nuts, trail mix and snack bars to make holiday stocking for the troops. Sunset Market on Thursdays 5:00 - 9:00 on 11/29, 12/6 and 12/13.

Soldiers' Angels, 501(c)(3) is once again partnering with MainStreet Oceanside for a collection drive of items to fill our troops with joy. We are accepting donated socks, hand-made blankets, hot cocoa, gum, candy, nuts, trail mix and snack bars (in single serving sizes please). From this collection stockings will be made and gifted to a unit on MiraMar; single barracks of Marines who could not go home for Christmas. A home cooked Christmas meal will also be served. We don't want to mention who the unit is as it will be a surprise for them!! My goal is to also have enough to ship to Afghanistan to the Chaplains who will hand out joy to our deployed troops.

In addition, we are accepting monetary donations or gift cards to local groceries so we can shop for all the ingredients we need to prepare and serve holiday dinners to the Wounded Warrior Battalion Barracks on Camp Pendleton. This is an annual tradition that we and the command truly look forward to. Our funds are tight and we can really use the help of our caring community! Soldiers' Angels will be available at the Sunset Market in Oceanside on Thursdays from 5:00 - 9:00 on 11/29, 12/6 and 12/13 to accept donations. Attached is a flier to share with co-workers, friends, churches and clubs. Our booth is right in the middle next to the MainSteet Information booth. http://mainstreetoceanside.com/Events/SunsetMarket/SunsetMarket.html

Please get involved and say "thank you" to the brave men and women who sacrifice so much so that we can have our freedoms. Question? Contact Susan Lawson at ctlca26@gmail.com
