Wounded Warrior Battalion West Baby Shower

Can we as a military community sit by and not offer some assistance and support? I think not!

Editor's note: View this event's listing on Patch to import it to your own calendar.

We as a community have an opportunity to really help some USMC families who have put everything on the line. For those of you who have recently had babies of your own, you know how challenging that can be. Now add to the stress: your military spouse is injured or seriously ill, he has been relocated to Southern California for extended rehab, you have no family near you, and your income is barely covering your needs. Can we as a military community sit by and not offer some assistance and support? I think not!

How can you help? Soldiers' Angels non-profit organization is hosting a baby shower for the wounded Marines recovering at Camp Pendleton Wounded Warrior Battalion, 29 Palms and Balboa Naval Hospital on October 27th.

The goal is provide essentials to welcome 13 new babies to these families (3 girls, 3 boys and 7 gender unknown) and the following new items are needed:

Cool weather infant outfits: newborn – 9 months

Baby books, stuffed animals, rattles, bottles, diapers

Baby shampoo, powder, lotion, washcloths, etc….

Car seats, strollers, infant bath tubs

USMC logo or cammo ANYTHING for the baby or baby mommy!

Soldiers' Angels will be on hand on Thursday 10/4 at the Oceanside Sunset Market information booth from 5:00 – 9:00 or contact Soldiers’ Angels, Susan Lawson, at ctlca26@gmail.com for a mailing address. Let’s show these young families that we as a community say “thank you” and “congratulations” on your new baby.
