Emily Matherly, Neighbor

Hello Savers!

My name is Emily Matherly, and I live on base at Camp Pendleton with my husband Matthew.

I grew up in smalltown Mishawaka, IN and migrated to Oceanside when my husband joined the Marine Corps. I love being a part of the military life, and look forward to being a part of it for years to come!

In 2007/2008 I attended Ball State University as an English/Education major, but moved back home when my husband joined the Corps. We got married, and moved to sunny Oceanside, CA in 2009. I currently attend University of Phoenix and MiraCosta College as a Business Administration/Entreprenuership major in the hopes of my husband and I one day opening our own business. In addition to being a full-time student, I work full time for a health insurance company in La Jolla, spend time at the gym every day, and devote as much time as possible to my husband and our friends. My hobbies include reading, writing, working out, watching movies, shopping, and enjoying outdoor activities with my husband such as kayaking, hiking, going to the beach, paintballing, and many others.

With so many fun things to do and a full schedule, AND a man who eats like a horse, it can be hard to save up as much money as we'd like too. So the main focus of my blogs is going to be about just that: saving! I'll be writing about my personal experiences with spending/saving, and be giving helpful tips and hints on ways to save on things like gas, groceries, household products, etc. as well as talk about creating a budget and sticking to it. I'll answer any question sent my way, and hopefully I'll be able to help you, readers, save a little extra mulah.
